CPS- Criminal Justice Powers Scholarship
| COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP | |
| About this Scholarship: | The Powers Public Service Scholarship aims to award funds to UHD Criminal Justice students pursuing a career with a criminal justice agency or non-profit organization focused on some aspect of crime, criminal justice, or social justice. Since, at the scholarship's inception, state and local certified law enforcement officers and those interested in pursuing a law enforcement career have other scholarship options available through the UHD Criminal Justice Program, state tuition waivers, and agency education reimbursement benefits, this scholarship intends to give preference to those students who may have greater financial need because they have fewer scholarship/tuition assistance opportunities than those afforded currently serving law enforcement officers. |

| Notes: | The scholarship evaluation rubric will reflect this preference, with higher rubric points awarded to student scholarship applicants who are not eligible for law enforcement officer financial assistance. Nonetheless, current or future law enforcement officers are also strongly encouraged to apply. The awards committee will make the award decision. In the case of a tie among two or more students, the overall college GPA will break the tie.
