Scholarship applicant exhibits leadership qualities as determined by the scholarship selection committee. Scholarship applicant should be (1) an undergraduate majoring in Computer Science, (2) a graduate in MSDA, or (3) a graduate pursuing a graduate certificate in Data Analytics. Scholarship recipient must maintain a 3.50 or better cumulative GPA.

Since, at the scholarship's inception, state and local certified law enforcement officers and those interested in pursuing a law enforcement career have other scholarship options available through the UHD Criminal Justice Program, state tuition waivers, and agency education reimbursement benefits, this scholarship intends to give preference to those students who may have greater financial need because they have fewer scholarship/tuition assistance opportunities than those afforded currently serving law enforcement officers.

The Marilyn Davies College of Business Ted Bauer Emerging Scholars Program Scholarship is designed to support students who have faced academic challenges due to demanding life circumstances, such as full-time work or family responsibilities, and are now ready to refocus on their education.

This scholarship offers both financial and academic support to help students enhance their GPAs, participate in meaningful campus and career activities, and stay on track to graduate. COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

AMOUNT:	$ 1500 per semester
GPA REQUIREMENT:	3.0 GPA
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:	Current High School Seniors Minimum SAT test score of 1,000 (500 each on mathematics and critical reading sections) or equivalency on other standardized exams Credit for at least pre-calculus in high school (minimally preferred) Be enrolled as a full-time student and member of the Scholars Academy Automatic Acceptance Pathway for Freshmen into Scholars Academy Be offered and accept a UHD Merit Scholarship Renewable (4 years at $6,000/yr; minimum GPA of 3.5) must complete UHD Admissions application by Dec. 1st Be offered and accept a UHD Non-Renewable Scholarship (1 year up to $5,000; minimum GPA of 3.5) Submit SA applications following the scholarship award Current Transfer applicants Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in college within last 4-5 years Be enrolled as a full-time student and member of the Scholars Academy Be offered and accept a UHD Transfer Merit Scholarship: automatic acceptance into Scholars Academy

The Joan S. Abramowitz Undergraduate Research Scholarship

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

AMOUNT:	$6,000 for summer research at UT Houston Health Sciences Center
GPA REQUIREMENT:	Minimum 3.25 GPA
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:	Completed at least 24 hours of college course work at UHD Completed General Microbiology or equivalent

NOTES:	International students are welcome to apply. To fulfill the security requirements of the Texas Medical Center international students must have a student visa or the necessary paperwork to serve in this internship capacity in a research laboratory

Welch Foundation Scholarships for NS

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP
TYPE:	Research Scholarship
AMOUNT:	Up to $1000 Full time (12 hrs/ wk) to up to $500 Part time (6 hrs/wk)
GPA REQUIREMENT:	Minimum 2.5 GPA
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:	Be a declared major in the NS department Your research is in one of the disciplines within the NS Department with an NS faculty Registration or credit for 3300 research Registration in NS 3099 UHD Registration is required Research mentor signature/approval Attach a one-page research statement to the application form describing why you are interested in research, your previous research experience, if any, and how you plan to balance research, classes, and other commitments this semester.

NOTES:	You can receive this scholarship in addition to other scholarships for the same semester, depending upon your financial need.

William Randolph Hearst Endowment Scholarship

INSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

GPA REQUIREMENT:	3.2 GPA
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:	Must be entering Fall as a new transfer student and accepted through the Office of Admissions Minimum of 15 transfer college/university credits Submit official transcripts Must not have previously earned any credits at UHD Must enroll between 6 TO 11 UHD college credit hours (fall and spring semesters)
