• Preference will be given to a full-time student, but the Marilyn Davies College of Business Scholarship Selection Committee has the discretion to determine that a student taking 6+ hours in the undergraduate Accounting program

• Scholarship recipients may accept other scholarships and grants in conjunction with Carmen and Antonio Marin Scholarship.
• Funds can be used to cover expenses for tuition, books, fees, and/ or supplies for the coming academic semester. Any expenses of a recipient in excess of the amount deposited must be borne by the student.
• Scholarship award is non-renewable. Scholarship applicant must apply each year.

This scholarship is designed to support one female student in the teacher education program at the University of Houston-Downtown. Specifically, the scholarship will help the recipient to purchase an electronic device as needed to support the student's education, pay for textbooks or registration at UHD.

Essay:
Applicants should write an essay of 500 words in length, double-spaced, and size 12 font including:

• Career objectives as a future educator
• Your role as a woman in community issues
• Special honors and awards you may have earned
• Other personal information which you would like to share
